A few months ago, a man I knew died of cancer. I wasn’t very close to this person, but their death impacted me profoundly. He was in his late 30s when he passed away and it was too late when he realized what he would have done differently. From the outside, you’d assume he was doing all the right things…
- He ate healthy food
- He was active
- He had a meditation practice
- He didn’t drink or do drugs
- He has a loving wife and two beautiful kids
- He avoided toxins by having his home tested
- He moved to the countryside, lowered his stress, and followed his work dream of opening his own business to help heal others
Despite all these positive choices, there was something missing in his journey to healing. Right before he died, he was very open about why he figured he was diagnosed with cancer and the biggest reason he was succumbing to the disease. He didn’t share this in a hopeless way – he shared it in a very matter-of-fact way – he knew what had killed him, and he wanted people to know.
