The ground feels like it’s falling apart beneath us — here’s how I got back to feeling a sense of purpose and groundedness despite the doom and gloom broadcasted constantly into our lives.

These days it can feel like no matter what we do, things are just constantly falling apart. It can feel like there’s no point in doing the daily tasks we used to not think twice about. Now we question the point of everything.

Some days can feel like trying to hold together a fistful of sand or like you’re standing on quicksand….

For each of us, how it shows up could be different. Maybe it’s the weight you gained from the pandemic and all the unhealthy habits you slipped back into, and it just feels endlessly exhausting trying to crawl yourself back out. Especially with a nice whack load of depression sprinkled on top…and when you’re still working from home, attempting to convince yourself to leave and do even the simplest things can feel impossible. Or maybe it’s the fact that you’re trying to build a future but are constantly bombarded with all the negativity of war happening in the world and the climate crises amongst us that you think to yourself, what’s the point?

Maybe you have children and you’re constantly rocked with the thoughts of them potentially not having a future planet to even thrive on! You feel completely helpless and can’t get a grasp on your anxiety about it. It feels too huge to undertake and too out of reach for you to control.

And seriously, what is the point if the human race is actually coming to an end?

No matter how much you recycle and no matter how many vegetables you eat — you’re not going to save the oceans, stop the heat waves or curve pollution. You’re still a consumer and part of the problem, no matter what you try to do “right”!!

Well, shit. Now you’ve got me all depressed!

Nah, I’m just kidding.

I did feel this way though and still do sometimes until I do the work to catch and…
