Riding Scooters Stops Arguments

This might sound weird, but hear me out…

This last weekend, my partner and I wanted to leave town, but we had some vehicle issues so we had to stick around at home and make the most of it. When this happens, we tend to be a little more on edge because we’d rather be out adventuring and exploring, instead of at home trying to find new things to do.

Like most couples, we get into arguments about really, really stupid little things that don’t matter in the grand scheme of things. You know, things like what to have for dinner or which route driving is faster.

In hindsight, bickering about those things is always silly — yet in the moment, it can get pretty heated.

I’ve come to terms with the fact that although I’m almost always right (haha — but seriously), he’s the more stubborn one — so letting things go and letting him have his “win” is always best.

Especially considering I genuinely don’t care about winning, I’d much rather just keep the peace. It’s not like there a prize for winning an argument or an audience watching.

However, yesterday — I was fed up. I desperately wanted to be acknowledged, appreciated, and respected for all I do. All the things I bring to this relationship. I am a caretaker and very mothering person, who always puts everyone before me….I’m the person in the house who does all the cleaning (legitimately, all of it) all the organizing, all the tidying up — even the stereotypical “man”…
