Generally speaking, women tend to naturally be more empathetic than men. We are built this way because we are mothers and caretakers. Men, on the other hand, are historically built to be providers are hunters.

Of course, this is super general, and there are situations where the roles are reserved — but for the most part, women naturally have a tendency to be more empathetic.

That being said, times are changing. Women are increasingly becoming breadwinners and providers, and with that, we’ve got way more options….even the option to be alone, raise a child alone, and not be in a relationship at all, because we don't need the financial support anymore.

Because of this, we are expecting more from men. They have to add to our lives, otherwise, what's the point?

One of the biggest arguments I hear from friends, and one of the main arguments I have with my own partner — is a lack of empathy.

Unfortunately, the term “narcissist” has been trending, so these men who have never had to be empathetic, and don’t even know what it means, are being labeled as a narcissist because of it. I don’t think that's fair!
