Thanks for the response Kate. First off, I think you misunderstood the point of the article - however, I understand and appreciate your perspective. I have a lot of experience with addiction and am surrounded by family of addicts (my whole life - it's what I've known) - being judgemental and shameful is absolutely not congruent with healing. Gratitude. Collaboration. Compassion. Those are congruent with healing. Judgement and shame has no part in any type of healing - whether it be from sugar or from alcohol. Also, side note about your comment about alcohol being a carcinogen, unlike sugar and dairy - thats incorrect. Sugar one of the worst known carcinogens, which as I'm sure you know - is high in content in alcohol. Thanks again for your response, I'm not bothered by peoples judgements of me as I am as a whole how shameful and judgemental the world is becoming. Compassion is missing. We need more of that.
