What Are Your Pet Peeves — And What Do You Do About Them?
Here are some of mine — and what I don’t do about them.
Ever since I can remember, I’ve had pet peeves. All of my adult life I’ve tried to change that and let them go because I don’t actually feel like others should have to compromise their behaviour just simply because something bothers me (at least, for the most part).
Sometimes it’s easy for me to let go, usually by physically removing myself from the pet peeve situation, by putting headphones in or simply breathing and using my little compassion techniques.
Lately, however— I’ve succumbed to my annoyances and it has brought up a whole whack load of anger and frustration. It’s probably due to a combination of things that are putting my nervous system on edge — this lengthy pandemic, the winter season coming, spending too much time with my partner, not having yoga as my outlet or as much physical contact with friends — I could blame my hormones, but that gets a bit old after a while, no?
So I figured, what better way to deal with it — than to write it out. Get it out of me, onto here, and laugh at myself for the irrational rage I have for these things. I decided to share it all with you guys in hopes that either you’ll relate to some of it, or at least laugh at me for it! Maybe we can even hack some good solutions together. I just feel like I need to get this off my chest lately — because my chest and heart have been feeling quite literally way too…
