What Does Life Look Like When You’re Thriving?
I went to see a new osteopath this week, and he was nothing short of amazing. I’ve seen four different osteopaths over the years, all of which have had different styles – but I always prefer someone who truly understands the link between emotions, universal energy and the physical body.
He completely got it.
When I made comments during our session like – “I feel frustration in my heart.” He understood.
Or when I said that when I hold pigeon pose it can make me burst into tears – an enormous release physically and emotionally. He related to it with his own experiences. Exactly what I love for a practitioner to do — not act like a robot and instead be a compassionate human being.
We all hold emotions in our bodies.
We got into some pretty deep chats and he left me with a couple big questions to ponder until our next visit. One of which was — what does life look like when you’re thriving? Can you define what thriving means to you?
I’ve been thinking about this every day since. I found that the most helpful way for me is to reflect on a time in the past where I felt like I was thriving — thankfully, that was easy. There was one time in my life in particular that really stood out.
It was when I left a boyfriend back in 2013. I loved this man very much but the relationship became so toxic because we sacrificed our separate lives for our relationship.
