Will Smiths' actions are a perfect mirror of what’s currently wrong with humanity

I don’t follow celebrity shit and I never watch award shows, the only time I hear about any of this gossip is through close friends….So, I am coming at this with very little knowledge about what Will Smith, his family, and Chris Rock have been up to.

I feel like it’s better that way. I’m seeing it with clean, unprepared, virgin eyes.

When you’re removed from the daily bullshit of news and celebrity gossip, but you hear something interesting here and there, it really shows how much things have changed. Times have really, really changed — quickly and drastically.

This was a perfect example.

My boyfriend showed me the clip of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock so hard last night and my reaction? I almost burst into tears. For everyone involved and for humanity as a whole.

At first for Chris Rock, because he’s a legend and I respect him — and he handled the situation with such grace and strength, by not fighting back and by not retaliating. He simply took the hit.

And then, for Will, because clearly, he’s not in a good place to be doing that — and who can’t relate to that these days? We all can.
