Your genes don’t make you fat. I’m living proof & here’s why.

My whole family — parents, aunts, cousins, grandparent — are all overweight and have health conditions, I figured out how to avoid all of that.

First, I’ll of course start by saying that I’m speaking from my own experience — however, health is my passion and I have thousands of hours of research in my brain that points towards this being true.

Sure, your genes play a huge part in your body composition and predispositions, there is no arguing that. Mostly because of your hormones — but we won't get into the nitty-gritty science here.

The point is, if your family is all overweight obsese (like mine is) with high blood pressure, addiction and heart disease (like mine does) you’re not guaranteed that outcome too. PERIOD! People legitimately wonder if I'm even genetically related to my family because I’m so thin and they are all overweight.

Side note, “overweight” is not really simple to define. What’s overweight to me, might not be to someone else. A healthy weight can mean many things — and I’ve been scared to talk about this out of fear that someone will be offended and lash out on me about how they cant control their weight for whatever health reason — I get it!
